Since we missed orientation this weekend, stuck in Tennessee thinking John was incredibly sick, we're just observing today. Well, that's all I'm doing. John has sort of jumped right into tutoring kids who are really getting into Flash.
There are only four kids in my group. And they're all more computer literate than I am. Basically.
They're talking to me and asking me for help though, so that's a good sign...that is, when I have any idea how to help.
The campus is beautiful. And we each have a room (that are ajoined by our bathroom) with two chests of drawers, two desks and chairs, and a wonderfully quaint set of bunk beds. So we have four desks, four beds...you get the idea.

I saw the Empire State Building today. And I wasn't in Newark Airport. I almost cried.
But I didn't.
I was too busy trying to make sure we didn't get completely lost while we were still in Jersey.

Columbus, OH:
John does not have cancer. Or anything else. Therefore, we are on our way to New York. We're hoping to get there in the early evening tomorrow. I'm gettin'
really excited.
Today's events:
9:20 Arrived at pulminary specialist at Baptist hospital.
11:00 Received confirmation that John's doctor in Erin overreacted Peggy Hill (no relation) style.
12:30 Left Wendell Smith's Corner, where we ate lunch with my mother-in-law and her boyfriend's daughter.
12:31 Got hungry again.
1:30 Boohooed over I-65's exit 22: Bowling Green, KY, the home of my alma mater, WKU.
2:00 Marvelled at a traffic jam in the middle of a cornfield.
3:00 Complained about being stuck in
another traffic jam
in a cornfield.
5:30 Scarfed down some Fazoli's.
6:30 Louisville is sooo purdy!
6:45 Freaked out 'cause I saw a
Meijer.
8:00 The last time I saw Cincinnati, I stayed the night at the zoo. Really.
10:30 Checked into
Motel 6.

In my abundant free time, which is all the time, I've been reading
Entertainment Weekly,
People, and Bill Clinton's new autobiography,
My Life. Two of them happened to have reviews for
Rachael Yamagata's new CD, which I haven't found yet. But she sounded cool on paper, so I went out and bought her EP. It's quality stuff.
Labels: books., music.

Looks like we're not going to see New York after all. John went to the doctor Monday for a sore throat, got a chest X-ray...and now we're waiting to find out when he'll have a biopsy on a mass they found near the bottom of his lung. The last two days have been pretty crazy. We drove halfway through Virginia before we found out there might be something wrong with him. He had a CT Scan at eight o'clock this morning. And now we wait. Waiting sucks.

John and I have been married exactly five months today.
I can't decide if it feels like it's been that long yet. Sometimes it feels shorter, sometimes longer. Either way, so far, so fabulous.

I got my film developed yesterday, which was pretty exciting. And found out, for sure, when we have to be in New York...even more exciting. June 24 I'll be "living" in New York. Just for six weeks.
Pictures even sooner to follow...

We got home from our trip to France and Switzerland last night. It didn't really occur to me just how expensive things are in Europe until I was standing in line in O'Hare thinking the
airport Starbucks was cheap.
Pictures soon to follow...
